My life's work is to make beautiful films, to keep the beautiful memories alive. So that we honor them and never forget them...
A farewell is the end of someone's life, but also the beginning of the grieving process for those left behind. A memorial film can help with the process of grieving. Accepting what is coming, or has already happened.
A film lasts forever and does justice to the person someone is, or was. Because of this, someone can be very close again.
Whether it is a short film of a few minutes or a full documentary, there is a beautiful, visual story to tell about everyone's life. Depending on the length of the film, existing footage is combined with new footage and personal interviews to create a telling life story.
SHORT (3-5 MIN)

A short compilation of existing images and photos For this short film we only use supplied images (photos and videos) to tell a short story. Of course, favorite music can also be incorporated. For example, to play during a funeral, to have a short film of someone's life afterwards or as a summary of the farewell service with all those present. Because we work with existing material, there is no recording day. Price: from €595,-
BASIS (8-10 MIN)

A medium-length film that combines existing images with new film footage By combining existing images with new footage, a current, very personal film is created. There is enough space to interview people and let them speak. For example, to look back on special events together, to record a final message or to show each other a token of appreciation. 1/2 - 1 recording day will be scheduled for this. Price: from €1750,-
DOCUMENTARY (÷20 MIN)

The most beautiful way to record someone's life: an (auto)biographical documentary For this film we go 'all out'. The life story is filmed, in which we of course use existing footage, but also new recordings. For this we can, for example, interview different people, visit special locations and there is more time and space to go into depth and for the 'own' story. 1 recording day is planned for this. Of course I am always open to your own ideas or new concepts. Do you want to follow someone with the camera for a long time? Do you want to record a few very special events together? Just contact me and we will discuss the possibilities. I am happy to think along with you! Depending on your wishes, I can make a cost calculation and indicate how many filming days we need.
How does it work?

Choose movie type
You can choose from four packages: a film of 3-5 minutes, a film of 8-10 minutes, a documentary of ± 20 minutes and a completely custom made film. Each film is of course personal and unique! Together we look at what the wishes are. Look under the heading 'Films' for more information and various examples.
Intake

During an intake interview - usually at your home - we determine the type of film and make agreements about costs, shooting days (film recordings) and delivery.

Filming
For a short film (3-5 minutes) no recordings are needed, because we work with existing footage. For the other films (basic film of 8-10 minutes and documentary of 20 minutes) in principle half to 1 filming day is foreseen. For the custom film this depends entirely on the wishes. For example, we can follow someone for a longer period of time or plan a filming day at multiple locations and with multiple people.

Good to know
All images and sounds recorded by us are of course treated and edited with the utmost care and respect for privacy. The rights belong to Story Of My Life. If you, or someone in your environment, share the film yourself, we would of course greatly appreciate it if we are mentioned as the creator. :)

Few people know that this exists, but we do now and how we experienced it with the film about Vince I would recommend this to everyone. The special, beautiful and impressive images are above the sadness and without the sadness the film would never have been so beautiful and intense. A super beautiful experience rewarded with a beautiful film of the most beautiful boy. The most beautiful memory ever for us.

Our experience with Story of my life is in one word literally unforgettable. Our foundation Just in Time 4 Heroes, is committed to children with a short life expectancy, together with the family one more time to Terschelling. This will soon be the only thing that remains... the memory! Nicole was able to capture this so beautifully for us on film. So special and valuable! The images are unforgettable memories of our Heroes. Thank you dear Nicole for wanting to help our foundation. We are very grateful to you!

Hi, I'm Nicole!
I make memorial films. I believe that everyone has a special and unique (life) story to tell that is worth sharing.
I have lost several people myself and have dreamed for years of being able to mean something to others in this last phase of their lives, or even after their death. So that things that still need to be said are still said and we will never, ever forget them.
After seeing the movie 'Final Cut' (2004) I got an idea, which over the years has grown into a passion and my own company. But that didn't happen by itself.. I had to fight for my idea, because for a long time people thought that no one was waiting to capture life in this way. Why would they?
Fortunately, you see it more and more on television and the internet: documentaries, vlogs and programs about someone's life and also the end of that life. Think of 'Ik mis je', 'Break Free' and 'Over Mijn Lijk', incredibly beautiful programs that break the taboo around death and beautifully map the life of the main character.
For years I had this idea in my head, I wanted to capture life stories. For people who are terminally ill and know that they will pass away soon, people who want to get their message across or have had a nice life and would really like to look back on that life. Or for those who have already died, but leave behind a huge void. For their partner, family, friends, or (grand)children who still want to look at daddy, mommy, grandpa or grandma...
For years I worked for the police and later in the television world for leading programs and I dreamed of a life as an independent entrepreneur, as a filmmaker. Making stories myself that really matter. But employment was safe and secure. Until I met Daisy -through my work-. Daisy had cancer and to survive her leg was amputated. For a while this seemed to be her salvation but unfortunately. Later it turned out that the cancer had returned. There was nothing more to be done.
But she kept going, and how! She married her great love Nikki, exercised whenever she could, shared her life (even the less beautiful things) in her vlogs and said: "Nicole, if you want something, do it now. Look at me: it can be over so quickly. Not tomorrow, not next week, not in a year. Now!"
On March 16, 2018, Daisy passed away at the age of 31. She still had so many plans and dreams. Her determination and perseverance have inspired me enormously. Partly because of her, I quit my job and finally started my own business. Because of her, I know that she found comfort in sharing this difficult part of her life. Because of her vlogs and impressive character, she still lives on in many people. Now I know for sure that I want to do this for others.
Daisy, thank you for everything, it wasn't in vain.
Story of my life finally exists, thanks in part to you.
